Abstract Summary In this research we studied the impact of surgical margins in patients treated with trans-oral laser resection for early glottic cancer, on the outcome of surgery; (about locoregional control, and quality of life). Eighty-four patients were included in this study as a prospective study, previously untreated, candidates for TLM, at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck surgery, University of Brescia, Italy, between April 2016 and December 2016, and patients were followed-up till March 2018.These patients suffered from early glottic cancer either (Tis, T1a, T1b or T2) without previous biopsy and not underwent any methods of previous treatment. We examined the patients intraoperative by using HD camera connected with NBI system for better assessment and evaluation of the surgical margins and these patients underwent different types of cordectomies by (TLM). We classified the patients into two groups: group A included 60 patients suffered from Tis, T1a or T1b glottic cancer While group B included 24 patients suffered from T2 glottic cancer. |
