Abstract The thesis is divided into five chapters including lists of contents, figures, and tables as well as a list of references. Chapter 1: In this chapter, a brief introduction is presented about Energy harvesters, and more particularly the RF energy harvester emphasizing its importance in many applications. The need toward the design of RF energy harvesters is discussed next. Then, the ob-jectives of the thesis and its contributions are demonstrated. Finally, the outlines of the thesis are presented. Chapter 2: Chapter 2 provides a sufficient background of different architectures of RF energy harvesters, and the main building blocks. It also presents the main challenges which face RF energy harvesting and the solution of some of these challenges. Chapter 3: This chapter introduces a proposed technique to realize a wide-frequency-range self-startup RF energy harvester. Besides, detailed qualitative and quantitative analyses are presented to compare the performance of the narrow and wide-band RF energy har-vesters. Chapter 4: This chapter explores the circuit design, implementation as well as the simulation re-sults of each block of the proposed RF energy harvester. Also, it provides system level achieved results, as well as, a comparison with recently published RF energy harvest-ers. Chapter 5: Chapter 5 starts with the thesis summary and its contributions. Then, both the chapter and the thesis end with a discussion of suggestions for future research. |
