Abstract Objective: the study aim to assess the effect of LOD on AMH as an ovarian reserve marker in infertile women with PCOS. Study design: A observational study. Setting: Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital, Cairo, Egypt. Material and methods: forty patients with PCOS were enrolled in the study. We evaluate the effect of LOD on ovarian reserve using AMH level. Results: forty patients were underwent LOD, occurrence of ovulation occurred in 13 patients (32.5%) after three months of LOD. Occurrence of pregnancy occurred in 6 patient (15%) three months after LOD. As regarded AMH, LOD has reducing effect on it. The deleterious effect of LOD was highly statistically significant as it reduced from 9.80±4.41 to 4.63±2.82 after three months (p-value= <0.001). Conclusion: using AMH as reliable marker of ovarian reserve measuring it for women with anovulatory PCO undergoing LOD may provide a useful tool in evaluating the outcome of LOD as the gold standard treatment for PCO women. |
