Abstract The present study is concerned with syntheses, characterization and applications of six coordination polymers of some metal ions (SCP 1, SCP 5 and SCP 6) and organtin compounds (CP 2-4). Thus, this study deals with the self-assembly of [CuI(CN)], [CuII(CN)2], [Cd(NA)2] and [Pb(NA)2] building blocks as well as dimethyltin chloride [(CH3)2SnCl2] in the presence of unidentate pyridine bases such as phenanthrolene, 2, 2’ bipyridine, 4, 4’ bipyridine and nicotinic acid to obtain multidimensional coordination polymers; {[CuI(CN)(phen)2][CuII(CN)2.(phen)].5H2O} SCP 1, [2, 2’- bipy.Me2SnCl2] CP 2, [4, 4’-bpy.Me2SnCl2] CP 3, [phen.Me2SnCl2] CP 4, [Cd(NA)2(H2O)] SCP 5 and [Pb(NA)2] SCP 6. The structures of 1-6 were characterized by elemental analyses, single crystal X-ray diffraction, electronic, IR, NMR spectroscopy and thermal studies. The X-ray crystal studies indicated diverse structures for CPs 1-3 and 5, 6. Only CP 4 is unsuitable for X-ray single crystal. This study, also, focused on the applications of the new coordination polymers in two main fields. The first field deals with the catalytic behavior of SCP 1 for degradation of methylene blue dye (MB) in presence of H2O2. |
