Abstract In this study ,363 calves (305 cow calf & 58 buffalo calf)at different ages (1-45 days) &localities were investigated for detection of Rota viruses & Corona viruses as one of infectious causes of diarrhea in calves .The calves reared under different management system . Number of 363 Three hundred & sixty three faecal samples were collected from diarrheic & non-diarrheic calves and examined by ELISA & PCR . The result revealed that prevalence of Rota by ELISA 4.1 % & 0.2 % in diarrheic and non-diarrheic calves respectively , while Corona 0.55 % in diarrheic calves only. The results is more confirmed by PCR which revealed that the prevalence of Rota 4.1 % & 0.2 % in diarrheic and non-diarrheic calves respectively, while Corona 0.55 % in diarrheic calves only. Concerning to age , the high prevalence rate of was in young (less than 30 day by rate 4.1% while in calves age 30-45 day by 0.2% while Corona only detected in calves age less than 30 day by 0.55% . This result according to seasonal revealed that high prevalence in winter by 4.1%, while the lowest prevalence rate was in spring by 0.2% while in corona prevalence rate in winter was 0.55% . On the other hand ,the results according to localities in Rota were 4.1% , 0.2% in Gharbia and Kafr elsheikh respectively while Corona detected only Gharbia by prevalence rate 0.55% Also, management system, milk feeding , vaccination of dams play an important role in prevalence rate of Rota vaccinated farms 0.71% while in non vaccinated 3.5% while in corona infection occur in non vaccinated only by 0.55%. |
