Abstract

A total number of 360 naturally infected and apparently healtly mugil seheli fish with an average body weight and lenght 39.11 gm and 15.17 cm,respectively. They were collected a live and recently dead from private fish farms in Suez Governorate, Egypt during the period from november 2014 to October 2015. Fish samples were submitted to clinical, postmortem, bacteriological and parasitological examinations. Also, the polymerase chain reaction was used as a diagnostic tool for some bacterial pathogens. Clinically infected fish showed hemorrhage on skin at different parts of the body, hemorrhages at the base of fins, on operculum, around mouth and anal opening, swelling of abdomen, and loss of scales with begining of ulcer formation. Some fish exhibited Sluggishness, lack of appetite with dark coloration of the fish, swimming near the water surface with air gasping, fins damage started by fins erosion from its tip of the and exophthalmia was noticed.Infected fish showed loss of equilibrium and exhibited abnormal swimming behavior.
