المستخلص The study aims to identify the reality of building and developing digital information resources in the libraries of the faculties in South Valley University in Qena through a field study to these libraries. In addition, it aims to identify the usefulness of digital information resources for the faculty members and their assistants in South Valley University in order to identify the extent of their need for this category of information resources and their availability in the libraries of the faculties in the university. The researcher adopts the survey-field method for collecting data and information and then describes and analyzes them. The study finds many important results which include: There is no written policy agreed between the libraries of the faculties that are participating in the study to build and develop their collections of digital and traditional resources of information. This leads to the lack of balance between the digital and traditional resources of information, where the ratio of digital information resources reaches 3.7%. The results also show that 97.1% of respondents participating in the study benefit from digital information resources in general, while 76.9% benefit from digital information resources in the libraries of the faculties in the university. |
