Abstract Recently nanotechnology is used in treatment and diagnosis of tumors and other diseases. Tumor diagnosis as a new application of nanotechnology in medicine is aided by injection of targeted and functional nanoparticles (NPs) directly into the body to enhance the contrast of tumor imaging. Among functional NPs for theranostic applications, magnetic NPs (MNPs) are of particular interest because they are biodegradable, FDA-approved, and commercially used as T2-contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and hyperthermia treatment. |
