Abstract The main targets of this study is to study the structural setting, reservoir characterization of Kareem Formation, and the hydrocarbon potentialities of the Sinai and Ras Garra oil fields. The Structural setting through the study area shows fault pattern interpreted and analyzed through the picking the surfaces of the major rock units and consequently identification of the related structures affecting the hydrocarbon potential through the study area. It is founded that these faults create some structures favorable the hydrocarbon potential such as horst structure. Interpreting of the available well –log data of Kareem Formation illustrated that it has good reservoir petrophysical parameters through the wells of Sinai Field, while it not considered as not good reservoir through the wells of Garra Field through the studied wells. Studying the hydrocarbon potentialities of the Sinai Ras Garra oil field is achieved as follow: Making the burial history modeling, constructing maturity models, and determining the Factors which affecting on the generation and expulsion of the hydrocarbon. Studying the hydrocarbon potentialities of the Sinai and Ras Garra oil fields Showed that Ras Garra Field has a better hydrocarbon potentialities than that of Sinai field. |
