Abstract Protection of food and keep it safely against bacterial deterioration attract the interest of scientists to generate and develop suitable antimicrobial polymeric membranes. In proposed work, two sets of membranes were prepared. The first set was developed using different composition of chitosan (Cs) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA),with or without chalcone as supporting antibacterial materials. The second was a new blend of aminated chitosan (Am)/polyvinyl alcohol membranes in the presence and absent of chalcone. Different physical characteristics such as mechanical properties, water sorption, contact angle measurements, roughness, color measurement, were investigated for prepared membranes. |
