Abstract The present study was planned for comparing water quality parameters between both aquaponic and control systems and these water quality parameters include: pH , dissolved oxygen , water temperature , electric conductivity , toxic ammonia, nitrite , nitrate , phosphate , chloride , sodium , potassium , hardness , calcium , magnesium , alkalinity and heavy metals and to investigate the mortality rates between Oreochromisniloticus in both systems when they are intraperitoneally injected with Aeromonassobriabiovarveronii and the clinical picture in the experimentally infected fish revealed unilateral exophthalmia, detached scales and hemorrhages allover body surface with congested liver. The mortality ratesinaquaponic system was 10 % compared to 90 % in the control group. |
