Abstract
In conclusion, this study showed that 54.8% was the prevalence of depressive disorders in type II diabetes SCID-DSM-IV diagnosis (88.8% for the uncontrolled group and 20.8% for the controlled group) while only 16.9% for the control group. It was mild in (26.4%) of patients while it was moderate and severe among (16%) and (12.2 %) of them, respectively.
Among the depressed diabetic patients, 39.6 % had a current major depressive episode (49.1% for the uncontrolled group and 11.3% of the controlled group). 11.3% had recurrent major depressive episodes (17% for the uncontrolled group and 5.7% of the controlled group). 10.5% had dysthymia (17% of the uncontrolled group and 3.8% of the controlled group). 2.8% had premenstrual dysphoric disorder (5.7% of the uncontrolled group and 0% of the controlled group).
