Abstract

Menopause is a natural process of aging in the lives of the women occurred due to the cessation of the menstruation following the loss of the ovarian activities leading to the increased physiological and psychological changes and can have some effects on the health and the quality life of the women.
The current study has been performed -To assess effect of Aerobics exercise on improving hot flashes among menopausal women through the following:
1-Assess frequency & degree of hot flashes before intervention.
2-Instruct women to develop Aerobics exercise
3-Evaluate the effect of exercise on frequency °ree of hot flashes after intervention.
This study was conducted at Ain Shams outpatient clinic for obstetrics and gynecology. The subject of the present study included 120 women at the previous mentioned setting, and selected under following inclusion criteria. Menopausal women suffer from menopausal symptoms, free from any medical disease, don’t take any medication or supplements that disrupt or effect hormone levels, body mass index (BMI) not less than 18kg,can read and write.
There were three types of tools for data collection was used for achieving the aim of this study. The Arabic interviewing questionnaire sheet was designed. Arabic Hot flashes rating scale to assess hot flashes degree, Number &severity pre & post intervention. Weekly follow up record designed to record type of exercise regularity - duration & side effects of women to intervention (aerobics exercises program) each week for 12 weeks. In addition to supportive material Arabic leaflets about aerobics exercises.
Pilot study of 10%of total sample size was conducted to test the study process clarity and reliability of the tools. According to results of the data analysis, there is no modification after pilot study.
Current study that revealed that there was positive correlation between Physical activity intervention and decrease in the frequency of night-time hot flushes.
The finding of the present study reached to the following conclusion:
• 98.3% of women with Natural menopause, all of the studied sample have physical symptoms, 95.8% of them suffer from (night sweats), whole of studied sample have Psychological symptoms 98.3 % of them suffer from Depression.
• Aerobic training 30 minutes a day, three days a week Improved menopausal hot flashes among menopausal women.
In the light of the study finding, the following were recommended:
In the light of the study finding, the following were recommended that. Implementing appropriate educational program about the benefits of aerobic Exercise during menopausal period. Further studies still needed to identify the predisposing factor for menopausal symptoms& other to investigate the effect of Alternative treatment to improve hot flashes among menopausal women.
