Abstract

The study area is located between Longitude 32o 55`-33o 25` E and
Latitude 28o 45`-29o 10` N in Egypt. The area includes October oil, Ras
ghara oil field and Um Bogma locality. The Paleozoic Nubia sandstone
overlies the basement rocks and underlies the Cretaceous rocks. The age of
Nubia sandstone is extended from Cambrian to Cretaceous.
In the present study, we evaluated data for 494 core samples and 8 well
logs of Nubia sandstone rocks in the subsurface. Moreover, 420 surface
radioactive reading data from the outcrops at Um Bogma. Collected in
three vertical sections These data were used to study the Radioactivity,
clay types, reservoir characterization, recovery efficiency and formation
evaluation of Paleozoic Nubia rocks to provide a basic understanding of
the petrophysical and fluid transit properties of the Paleozoic Nubia
sandstone reservoir.
