Abstract
DM constitutes a significant health risk for mother and offspring during pregnancy, delivery and throughout the life course. women affected by DM, their offspring are at increased risk for neonatal complications, in particular macrosomia, large for gestational age, respiratory distress, pre maturity, hypoglycemia, polyhydramnios and death.
