Abstract The aim of the present study was using new drugs most of them from natural sources as plants to be the more active, more safer, less price and less side effects as Nigella sativa (NS) seed extract in and other two reference drugs omeprazole (OME) and ranitidine (RAN) in protecting and treatment of gastric ulcer in adult rats. Protective experiment studies the protective effects of N.S, OME and RAN on gastric tissues for two weeks then ulcer induction with indomethacin. All parameters were measured after 6hours from indomethacin oral administration. It contain seventy two female Spargue dawaly rats were divided into nine groups each from eight rats as follows: normal control receiving distilled water, CMC control (0.5 % aqueous solution of carboxy methyl cellulose), indomethacin group (30 mg/kg) for ulcer induction, Nigella sativa control (150 mg/ kg), Omeprazole (30 mg/kg) control, Ranitidine control (50 mg/kg), Nigella sativa +indomethacin, omeprazole + Indomethacin and ranitidine + Indomethacin with the same doses. The second experiment study the therapeutic effects of N.S , OME and RAN on gastric tissues after one and two weeks. Rats were injected with a single dose of Indomethacin (30mg/kg. bwt) for ulcer induction. It contains sixesty four ulcerated rats were divided into four groups for ulcer treatment with the same antiulcer drugs and doses. Rats were scarified and all parameters were measured after one and two week of treatment. |
