Abstract The aim of the present work was quantitative determination of ceftiofur sodium and marbofloxacin residues in different rabbit tissues (liver, muscles, kidney, spleen, heart, lung) and serum following multiple intramuscular administra¬tions of these drugs. Reversed phase-high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) and solid phase extraction (SPE) were used for determination of these antibiotic residues concentrations in serum and tissue samples. The tissue residues of ceftiofur sodium: Experimental design: • Twenty four healthy male New Zealand rabbits were used in this experiment. • Three rabbits were used as control for preparation of blank and spiked samples for method validation. • Twenty one rabbits were intramuscularly injected with ceftiofur sodium at a dosage of 2.2 mg/kg b.wt. once daily for 5 consecutive days. • Three rabbits were slaughtered on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 15th and 21st day following the last dose. |
