Abstract

• Malignant lymphoma accounts for approximately 8% of all malignancies. Its treatment usually consists of a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, which is frequently curative but often induces inflammatory conditions that can be confused with disease progression.
• The aim of our study is to assess the usefulness of FDG-PET/CT in staging, initial treatment response, disease remission confirmation and follow up of lymphoma in comparison to conventional imaging modalities, primarily CT scan.
• The study included two hundred patients with biopsy-proven lymphoma (100 HD and 100 NHL) that were examined prospectively by both FDG-PET/CT scan and CT scan. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of FDG-
