Abstract
Pregnancy is one of the most important events that constitutes a powerful experience in women’s lives and their families. All pregnancy-related experiences are etched into women’s memories and shape their maternal identities. Simultaneously, it is also a period of disequilibrium that involves profound endocrine and general somatic as well as psychological changes. This disequilibrium necessitates adequate continuous health supervision throughout the entire pregnancy.
Negligence of this crucial period may have negative consequences and ultimately add to maternal morbidity and mortality. In order to reduce the tocsin of maternal morbidity and mortality WHO had recommended several strategies one of them is antenatal care (ANC). It is refers to monitoring and managing women during pregnancy to prevent complications and promote a healthy outcome for both the mother and her expected baby.
Pregnant women’s satisfaction with ANC services is one of the crucial indicators for the quality of this care. Consequently, quality of ANC is a cornerstone entity for maternal and fetal safe passage through pregnancy. It is a focused strategy that was designed as one of the four pillars for safe motherhoods. These four pillars were recommended for the reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality.
Aim of the study
The present study aimed to assess pregnant women satisfaction with quality of antenatal care at family medicine centers in Alexandria governorate.
Materials and method:
The study was conducted at eight randomly selected family medicine centers in Alexandria governorate. Namely; EL- montaza , El- Amrawy , San –stifano, Smouha, Borg El-Arab, Bahieg , EL- Amoud family and El-Kabary family medicine centers.
