Abstract The present study paid attention to tomato wilt/root rot from different sites starting by the causal agents and their accurate identification based on molecular biology, reaction of tomato cultivars to infection by certain races and anastomosis subgroups of FOL and Rhizoctonia solani. Eight and 10 isolates for Fusarium oxysporum and R. solani, were isolated from tomato cv. Super Jackal grown in various locations of El-Minia Governorate. All isolates were pathogenic and varied in their pathogenicity to infect tomato plants. Isolates F1 (96% DS) and F2 (90% DS) of F. oxysporum were the most aggressive to incite wilt. However, isolates R1 (92.5% DS), R2 (86.5% DS) and R3 (77.5% DS) of R. solani gave highest root rot severity. The present study revealed that supplementation of tomato plants with micronutrients 40ppm Mn+40ppm Zn followed by antioxidants AA+SA for 2 successive days before transplanting could reduce AUWPC/AURRPC values is recommended. |
