Abstract

The poultry industry in Egypt is very important as it considered as cheap source of animal protein. Increased demand led researchers to find ways to increase production to overcome increased demand. β-Adrenergic agonist (β-AA) has repartitioning effect.
The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of β-AA (Terbutaline) on growth performance, some blood parameters and histopathological changes in liver, kidney, heart and muscle.
In our study, A total number of 120 (Ross) chicks were randomly allocated into 3 equal groups (each of 40) each group divided into 4 replicates per group, groups as following:
group (1): chicks of this group fed basal diet only (control group).
group (2): chicks of this group fed basal diet supplemented with terbutaline at concentration of 5mg /kg ration.
group (3): chicks of this group fed basal diet supplemented with terbutaline at concentration of 10mg /kg raion.
Effect of β- Adrenergic agonist (Terbutaline) on growth performance:
Chicks groups which fed Trbutaline with basal diet at concentration of 5mg and 10mg/kg ration showed significant increase in body weight , body weight gain and significant decrease in feed intake , feed conversion ratio.
