Abstract

This study was carried out during the three successive seasons of 2013, 2014 and 2015 on seventy two 5-years old Early sweet grapevines grafted on Salt Greek grapevines rootstock grown in a private vineyard located at West Matay, Matay district, Minia Governorate . Vines are spaced at two meters ( between vine ) X 3 meters ( between rows ) ( 700 vines per feddan ). The selected vines ( 72 vines ) were chosen as uniform in vigour as possible and devoted to achieve this study.
This study paid a special attention to adjust the optimum vine load / vine for Early sweet grapevines grown under Minia region conditions. In addition, to examine the effect of boron and magnesium on fruiting of such grapevine cv. The effect of silicon as an enhancer of the tolerance of such grapevine cv to biotic and abiotic stresses on fruiting state is considered another target.
Conclusion :
Under Minia region and the resembling conditions, it is advised to prune Early Sweet grapevines during winter pruning ( 1st week of January ) leaving 72 eyes / vine as well as treating the vines three times at growth start, just after berry setting and at three weeks later with a mixture of boric acid at 0.025 %, magnesium sulphate at 0.25 % and potassium silicate at 0.25 % for producing higher yield with fairly good quality of the berries.
