The patients were divided into two groups . group I : (100) patients received 500ml water orally 4 hours before contrast we stop 2 hours before coronary angiography then 600 ml water after it over 2 hours group II :( 100) patients received IV isotonic saline 0.9% 3ml/kg over one hour before coronary angiography and 1ml/kg/hr over 6 hours after coronary angiography .. All patients were subjected to thorough history taking and complete physical examination, 12 leads surface ECG, laboratory investigations including CBC baseline serum creatinine, transthoracic Echocardiography, and serum creatinine follow-up after 48hours There was no statistical significant difference regarding the risk factors (DM, anemia, HTN, Age, sex, base line serum creatinine) between the study groups There was no significant difference between the two groups in the incidence of CIN in group I CIN occurred in 6 patients.
