Abstract
Railway developments in egypt have gained much interest recently. this development was in many fields such as the railway in frastructure, vehicles and railway speeds and theh term high speed trains ”HST” was introduced as an alternative on egyptian national railways. HST has many challenges from a geotechnical point of view; one of which in the case of HST operation in areas with soft soils such as soft clys in delta area and in east port said in egypt.
