Abstract Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cr(III), Zn(II),Cd(III), Fe(II) and Mn(II) complexes of 4,6-Bis-[1-(2-hydroxy-ethylimino)-ethyl]-benzene-1,3- diolhave been prepared and characterized by element analysis, IR, UVVis spectra, magnetic moment, conductances, 1H-NMR spectraand mass spectra, Thermal analyses (DTA and TGA) and ESR measurments. The analytical and IR data show that, the ligand behaves as neutral Tetradentate or dibasic tetradentate. Molar conductances in DMF indicate that, the complexes are non-electrolytes. ESR spectra of solid Cu (II) complexes at room temperature show axial type (dx2-y2 ) with covalent bond character in an octahedral environment. Some complexes showed inhibitory activity agtainst hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG-2 cell line) compared with standard drug (sorafenib). |
