Abstract

This experiment was conducted during to the two successive seasons of 2013 and 2014 in El- Mataana Agric. Experiment Station Nursery located at Esna district , Luxor Governorate .
¬-The objective of this study was to examine the effect of salinity on Superior ,Red roomy , Flame seedless.
-The effect of some Antioxidant ( citric acid , potassium silicate and salicylic acid ) on alleviating the adverse effects of soil salinity.
-The interaction between soil salinity and Antioxidant on growth and vine nutritional status.
According to the present results, one can concluded that :
1-Stress caused by salinity in the soil at ( 1000 and 2000 ppm) caused a negative effects on vegetative growth characters, root parameters, plant pigments and uptake of essential elements ( N, P and K ) and had positive effects on uptake of Ca, Na and Cl.
2-The tolerance for salinity in the soil was greatly varied among the transplants of grapevine Cvs, Superior, Red Roomy and Flame seedless. In the same time Flame seedless transplants were superior than the two other Cvs in this respect.
3-The previous damage caused by salinity could be alleviated by using some antioxidants namely citric acid, potassium silicate and salicylic acid in ascending order.
4- Based to the values of growth and root characteristics, Flame seedless grapevine Cv was considered more tolerance to salinity in the soil than the other two grapevine Cvs , Red Roomy and Superior and could tolerate 2000 ppm salinity in the soil without harmful effects on growth and uptake of essential elements. Red Roomy grapevine Cv occupied the second position after Flame seedless regarding the tolerance to salinity.
5- Using antioxidants can help in increasing the tolerance of grapevine Cvs to salinity
Owing to the pervious results Flame seedless grape Cv can tolerate the salinity of the soil till 2000 ppm with no big difference than 1000 ppm. Moreover, using antioxidants can help much the transplants in tolerate the salinity spicily salicylic at 50 ppm acid and potassium silicate 1000 ppm.
