Abstract
The present work aimed to synthesis of new thiosemicarbazone ligand and its metal complexes then utilize this ligand as chelating agent in cloud point extraction. The obtained results can be summarized as follow:1.Synthesis of new thiosemicarbazone ligand,acenaphthaquinone-4-phenyl thiosemicarbazone (APTH), and its complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II).2.Characterization of The complexes by elemental, spectral (IR, UV-Vis and NMR) and thermal analyses.3.Use of APTH as chelating agent for the separation and preconcentration of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II) and Pb(II) from aqueous medium by cloud point technique, prior to spectrophotometric determination.4. Analytical applications on water samples.
