Abstract The southern green stink bug, Nezara viridula is one of the most important polyphagous heteropteran pest in the world (Todd 1989; Karsavuran 1991) occurs through the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americans, Africa, Australia and Europe. Although the geographical origin of N. viridula is still unknown (Hokkanen 1986; Jones 1988), it is most likely to origin from eastern Africa and/or Mediterranean; and spread during the last two centuries worldwide through human trade and agriculture . N. viridula has a wide host rang in more than 30 families ranging from tree and small fruit, vegetables, field crops and ornamentals (Hoffman 1935; Todd 1989) with preference for legumes, brassica and cotton (Panizzi 1997). |
