Abstract
Interleukin-17A is a member of IL-17 family of cytokines and the biologicalactivity of IL-17A or IL817Fis dependent on the heterodimericcomplex composed of IL 17RA and IL17RC. Most of IL17 receptor family members exhibit broad tissue.The diverse expression patterns and regulations of IL-17 cytokine family and their cognate receptors suggest that this newly identified cytokine family may possess unique immunological functions and play important roles in the maintenance of homeostasis and the progression of immune disease. The aim of this study: This study aimed to assess relation between serum level of IL-17A and severity of bronchialasthma.Subjects and methods:The studywas carried out on 75 asthmaticchildren,who were recruitedfrom the outpatient clinic of Chest and Allergy Unit, Pediatric Department,Tanta University Hospital.Patients were classified into 4 groupsgroup I; 20 children with mild intermittent asthmagroup II; 20 children withmild persistent asthma.
group III; 20 children withmoderate persistent asthma.group IV; 15 children withseverpersistentasthma.Asthmaseverity was evaluated according toGINA (Global initiative for asthma)guidelines on asthma (2011)
