Abstract The purpose of this thesis is studying the design and performance of a PVPS/PFCS hybrid electrical power system. This system consists of photovoltaic power system, PVPS and PEM fuel cell system, PFCS. The design of this system depends on the energy balance technique. The methodology which developed here can be applied at any site in the world. It has been applied on New Minia city as a case study. Also, studying the operation of PVPS/PFCS hybrid system has been done by using Artificial Neural Network ANN, which has been designed for this purpose. Complete study of fault calculations for PVPS/PFCS hybrid power system. Fault current and voltage has been calculated under the different types of shunt faults which occur at different locations of the hybrid system. Protective devices have been selected and used to protect the PVPS/PFCS hybrid power system. Reliability has been studied in an accurate manner for the PVPS/PFCS hybrid power system under study. |
