Abstract The performance of the used IIR inverse Chebyshev and Savitzky-Golay digital filters was tested by comparing the predicted exon locations in the output spectrum of tested DNA sequences with the true exon locations given from HMR195 database [123]. Then, we measured the sensitivity, specificity and correlation coefficient of the proposed technique using four different DNA numerical representation schemes (GCC, atomic number, FNO and 2-bit binary) as compared to EIIP, which is considered the most widely used scheme for prediction of protein coding regions. |
