Abstract

The main aim of this work is to study some problems of peristaltic
motion of electrically conducting non-Newtonian fluids.
The peristaltic transport is a nature’s way of moving the content
within hollow muscular structures by successive contraction of their
muscular fibers and now-well known to the physiologists to be one of the
major mechanics of transport in many biological organs, e.g. swelling food
through the esophagus, movement of chime in the gastrointestinal tract,
urine transport from the kidney to the bladder through the ureter, transport
of spermatozoa in the ducts, movement of ova in tha fallopian tube. In
addition, peristaltic pumping occurs in many practical applications
involving biomedical system. Also, the phenomenon of peristaltic transport
has increased interest from investigators in several engineering disciplines;
soon the study of the peristalsis in both mechanical and physiological has
become the aim of many scientific researches.
This thesis consists of six chapters, and more over it includes the list
of recent references, English and Arabic summaries.
