Abstract

Complexes of Ni2+, Zn2+, Cu2+, Hg2+, Co2+, Cd2+, Pd2+ and UO22+ ions with 3-oxo-N’-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene)-3-(thiazol-2-ylamino)propanehydrazide (H2AH), N’-(2-hydroxy-3H-indol-3-ylidene)-3-oxo-3-(thiazol-2-ylamino)propanehydrazide (H2IH) and N’-(naphthalen-2-ylmethylene)-3-oxo-3-(thiazol-2-ylamino)propanehydrazide (H2NH) have been prepared. The structure of the ligands and their metal complexes were elucidated by means of elemental analyses, spectral (IR, UV-Visible, NMR, MS, SEM, EDX and XRD), thermal (TG) and magnetic measurements. Also, the thermal behavior using TGand DTA showed the corresponding kinetic and thermodynamic parameters using Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger equations. Also, the molecular modelings using density functional theory (DFT) were drawn for the ligands and some of its metal complexes. The investigation of the biological activity of the ligands and some of its metal complexes. Also, the coductometric titrations of CuSO4 and NiSO4 with the ligands were performed to evaluate the association and formation constants.
