Abstract
This study was conducted in the outpatient clinic of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department , Tanta University Hospital,Egypt. to compare the effectiveness of C.C alone versus C.C plus phytoestrogen on endometrial thickness, cervical mucus and pregnancy rates in patients who had anovulatory infertility. The idea of giving phytoestrogen in this study before starting clomiphene citrate was to block the estrogen receptors before being occupied by clomiphene citrate. Results of the present study showed a significant difference between the two groups ; as regarding endometrial thickness which was higher in group (B) the phytoestrogen supplemented group as the mean thickness at day 12 of the cycle was 8.508±0.667 while in group (A) the clomiphene citrate only group the mean thickness was 6.913±0.473. The current study results comes in agreement with (Ahmed M Maged, et al.2015) a study in which all patients received clomiphene citrate (clomid global Napi , 6th October Egypt) 50 mg orally every 8 hours started from cycle day 3 for 5 days. group 1 (50 patients) received no further treatment. group 2 (50 patients) received estradiol (cycloprogynova white tablets, schering, Germany) from cycle day 7 to.
