Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the possibility of utilizing plant wastes (sugarcane bagasse (SCB), sugar beet pulp (SBP), castor leaves (CL) and water hyacinth’s stems (WHS)) as benign solid phase extractors to extract and remove inorganic and organic pollutants from water samples. The dissertation was divided into four chapters as follows: the first Chapter is introduction, the second chapter is experimental, the third chapter is the results and discussion which was subdivided into three parts: Part A; is dealing with the results of using SCB, SBP, CL and WHS for adsorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions., Part B: is dealing with the results of using SCB, SBP, CL and WHS for adsorption of Mn(II) from aqueous solutions. In addition Part C is dealing with the results of using SCB SBP, CL and WHS for adsorption of purpurin from aqueous solutions. The fourth Chapter contains recent references.
