A number of changes in population distribution reflect public policies and development trends largely Accordingly, the importance to identify the geographical distribution of the population and its role in the success of development programs and projects. Sharqat is located in the far northern Salah al-Din province, between latitudes (35-36) in the north and longitudes (43-44) to the east of an area of 1568 km2 and the number of population is 201,246 for the 2013 general density that reached 128 inhabitants / km2 in 2013, the districts is the most of the province in population density exceeds the population density in the province amounting to 61 inhabitants / km2 same year, featuring Sharqat is well located where mediates the four governorates of Salah al-Din and Niniveh, Erbil and Kirkuk. In order to shed light on the subject of spatial variation of the distribution of the population in the district of the population in the district of Sharqat is one of the districts of Salahuddin province.
