Abstract Intravenous iron is required in the majority of haemodialysis patients in regimen of treatment of anemia that associated with renal failure. There are two broad categories of intravenous iron therapy in haemodialysis patients. An intermittent divided doses of intravenous iron administration protocol. And another protocol of total dose correction of intravenous iron administration in one session of hemodialysis. In our study that conducted in 30 patients divided in two groups 15 patient in each one, we compare the outcome and effect between the two protocols in treatment of anemia by following up changes in iron parameters, ferretin, TSAT and Hemoglobin. We found at the end of the study that conducted for 3 months ,that there is no difference between the protocol of an intermittent divided doses of intravenous iron administration and the protocol of total dose correction of intravenous iron administration in one session of hemodialysis. regarding the previously mentioned parameters in management of anemia. |
