Abstract

Theis current study has been conducted to evaluate the role of autophagy in -alcoholic steatohepattis is the most severe form the pathogenesis of NASH non-alcoholic steatohepatitis is the most severe form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease that affects 20-30% of adus There is an increasing evidence that the pathogenesis of steatohepatitis relies on the two-hit hypothesis, where the first hit is accumulation of fat in the form of triacyl glycerol and cholesterol in liver cells, whereas the second hit is the inflammatory response of liver cells that is induced by oxidation of the accumulated fat and increased free radical formation. Accumulation of fat in liver cells is always associated with obesity and sedentary lifestyle and increased fructose intake.
