Abstract The aim of this study is to evaluate nursing practices post cesarean section. Methods: A descriptive exploratory design was carried out. Setting: cesarean section rooms at Obstetrics and Gynecology departments of Mansoura University Hospital. Sample Size: Sample of nurses was (26 nurses) while the sample of mothers was (156 post cesarean section mothers) were included in the present study. Sample type: Convenience sample for nurses but simple random sample was used for mothers. Tools: Three tools were used for data collection: An interview questionnaire schedule, observational checklist and satisfaction scale. Results: The majority of nurses (96.2%) had correct knowledge about the care who should provide post cesarean section, All nurses in the present study had incorrectly practiced post CS care for mothers and baby and all mothers were not satisfied with nursing care provided post cesarean section. Conclusion: Majority of nurses had correct knowledge about the care who provide post cesarean section but all nurses in Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Mansoura university Hospital had incorrectly practiced post CS care for mothers and baby and all mothers were not satisfied with nursing care provided post cesarean section. |
