Abstract This work was conducted on 96 chickens obtained from commercial breeders company, these chickens divided into 8 equal groups. Gp 1 was control negative. Gp 2 was control positive. Gp 3 treated with Enterococcus faecium in drinking water. Gp 4 treated with Bacillus subtilis in feed, Gp 5 infected by E.coli then treated with Enterococcus faecium, Gp 6 infected by E.coli then treated with Bacillus subtilis, Gp 7 treated with Enterococcus faecium then infected Gp8 treated with Bacillus subtilis then infected. The clinical signs where of Gp 2 were respiratory manifestations as well as high mortality, while other groups had no mortality nor abnormal clinical signs except Gp 6 and Gp 8 had a mild respiratory manifestations. The average body weight was decreased in Gp 2, while it was increased in Gp 3, Gp 7, Gp 4, Gp 6, Gp 5, Gp 8. The gross pictures which observed on chickens in Gp 2 were dark red lung firm and oozing blood at 14th day but rubbery at 21st, liver showed multifocal necrosis and perihepatitis, while kidneys were enlarged. Heart showed pericarditis with thick and opaque pericardium, congested intestine, dark red spleen and enlarged bursa. Examined organs of Gp 3 and Gp 4 were apparently normal, Gp 5 had normal liver, heart and spleen but lungs, kidneys and intestines were congested as well as enlarged bursa. Gp 6 had slightly enlarged kidney, heart and bursa with dark red lung and pale brown liver but the spleen was normal. |
