Abstract This study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of some antimicrobials containing Tilmicosin and Tiamulin (as active principles) and compare the pharmacological effects of Tilmicosin and Tiamulin against Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) infection in broiler chickens. The study was carried out on a commercial broiler chicken, one hundred and fifty one day old chicks were divided into 6 separate groups, and each group contains 25 birds divided as following. (G1) non-infected-non treated. (G2) infected without treatment chicken. (G3) infected and treated with Tiamulin 25mg/kgm. Bwt. in the drinking water (1 gram/1.5 liter) for 3 successive days. (G4) infected treated with Tilmicosin 15mg/kgm. Bwt. in the drinking water (0.3 ml/liter) for 3 successive days. (G5) non-infected and treated with Tiamulin 25mg/kgm. Bwt. in the drinking water (1 gram/1.5 liter) for 3 successive days. (G6) non-infected and treated with Tilmicosin 15mg/kgm. Bwt. in the drinking water (0.3 ml/liter) for 3 successive days, Birds suffered from respiratory signs at 19 days of age Just after appearance of the first clinical signs and mortalities, the birds were weighted, The clinical signs, the mortalities of each group Were recorded daily during and after the treatment course till the end of the study (35 days of age)., The body weight of the birds in each. |
