Abstract Several studies have reported that Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood disorders and can continue through adolescence and adulthood. Children with ADHD are usually inattentive, impulsive hyperactive, and they may have a variety of school- related problems including a difficulty in paying attention, following directions staying seated, listening, and completing assignment. Also this disorder causes grave problems for children, teachers, family and siblings Teachers will have to cope with more learners in their classes and with more learners with diverse problems such as ADHD which affects about three to five percent of all learners. This translates into that studying this subject is very important as it considered as a primary type of prevention. The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of an educational program on teacher’s knowledge and skills regarding Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder in primary schools. The study followed the quasi experimental design. It was conducted at two governmental primary schools at Al-gharbia Governates (one is urban and the other is rural). |
