127 Pharmacognostical study of Fragaria x ananassa Duch.Fragaria x ananassa Duch. is a perennial herb, belongs to family Rosaceae, which is a hybrid between Fragaria chiloensis Duch. and Fragaria virginiana Duch., was first found in France, now it is being cultivated around the world.It reaches 30-60 cm in height, leaves are petiolated, compound trifoliate, ovate in shape, with crenate margin, with white flowers which are borne in clusters, with the terminal flower opens first. The fruits are aggregated achene, each containing single seed, the red juicy fruit, the berry.
