Abstract
The present work was target to study the effect of (Alchemilla vulgaris, Salvia officinalis, Mentha piperita) blend 1 , (Alchemilla vulgaris, Matricaria chamomilla, Hibicus sabdariffa) blend 2 & Alchemilla vulgaris, Foneniculum vulgar, Psidium guajava) blend 3 and Mixture of all plants, Also to investigated the effect of prepared bread with the power of the abovemention blends as 7.5% on obese rats for reducing body weight. For this purpose , the study included 40 rats about 216.75 ± 10 (g) weight. Biological & chemical analysis of serum blood and histopathological investigation of internal organs were carried out. The results could be summarized as follows: 1. Due to Obesity , rats BWG %, FI, FER were increased .2. Feeding on basal diet contained herbs, plants & bread of groups>3,4,5,6,7,8,9&10 lowered the BWG %, FI & FER while raised FI 3. Obesity raised the internal organs weight while the reverse indicated on Feeding with group 3,4,5,6,7,8,9&10 4. Due to Obesity, rats serum glucose level was raised , but when Feeding on basal diet contained herbs, plants & bread of groups 3,4,5,6,7,8,9&10 glucose decreased . Treatment with Group 9(bread + blend 3) recorded the highest decrement 5. Obesity and high fat diet caused the increased TC,TG, LDLc &< >VLDLc , but resulted in the decreased the serum HDLc .
