Abstract
Value engineering (VE:) techniques are usually implemented in construction industry to determine the project reqired function with lowest overall cost and/or increased performance which indicates highest possible value.
VE has been recently widely used in the world construction industry. On the other hand. These techniques are, to the author’s knowledge, realy used in construction industry in Egypt. It is obvious that, the application of these techniques of these techniques on Egypt governmental housing projects is a great tool to save money, time and improve quality. The main objective of this research is to indentify the practical reality of the application of the VE techniques on governmental housing project in Egypt.
