Abstract Raw natural gas after transmission through the field-gathering network must be processed before it can be moved into long-distance pipeline systems for use by consumers. Natural gas is extracted from the ground as a mixture of different hydrocarbons, some gaseous, some liquid to convert this into a useable product requires the initial separation of the mixture into gaseous and liquid components, and then the purifying and separation of the gaseous component. A process that consists of several steps such as Removal of CO2 and H2S, Removal of water, Removal of heavier hydrocarbons, fractionation and Contaminant Removal knowing as Natural gas processing. The objective of gas processing is to get rid of the effect of impurities which found in Natural Gas these effects such as corrosion, lowering heating value, plug valves and fittings in pipelines. The number of steps and the type of techniques used in the process of creating pipeline-quality natural gas most often depends upon the source and makeup of the wellhead production stream. |
