Abstract This study was carried out to study the protective effect of curcumin (200mg/kg B.wt) and garlic (500 mg / kg B.wt) given orally on hepato-renal toxicity resulted from gentamicin (80 mg / kg.B.wt), Cefotaxime(540 mg/kg.B.wt) intramuscular with metronidazole (135mg/kg.B.wt)orally in male albino rats. Results indicated significant decrease in ( urea, creatinine, ALP, ALT, MDA and TNF-α) and significant increase in (albumin, total protein, GSH, Cat., SOD and GPx) that confirmed by histopathological and immunohistochemical reaction. we conclude that curcumin or garlic has protective effect against gentamicin , cefotaxime and metronidazole toxicity. |
