Abstract This study aimed to : The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the technique of MRI and CT of the spine, to review the degenerative diseases of cervical spine by MR and CT and to evaluate the role of MRI versus CT in diagnosing cervical spondylosis and how much they are complementary to each other. Our study included 30 patients with cervical spondylosis. They were 15 males (50 %) and 15 females (50 %). Their ages ranged from 45 to 85 years. The most common age of patients in our study were between 55 to 65 years old which represent 56.6% from cases. The main complaint of the 30 patients included in our study was neck pain, stiffness & radicular pain, while 25 patients had weakness in upper limb, 22 patients had numbness in hands and 5 patients had sensory loss. All patients underwent history taking, local examination by the referring physician, plain X-ray and MRI, and CT scan was carried out in radiology department, Mansoura University Hospitals. Plain X-rays was done for all patients in anteroposterior, lateral and oblique views. |
