Abstract

The present thesis is an attempt to shed the light on the age and origin of the ore
through the interpretation of the paleomagnetic and magnetic fabric results for the
investigated rocks. The obtained results will help in highlight one of the previous
literatures that coincide with our result about the source of the ore.
The goal of this study can be achieved from the following items:
1) Field sampling of oriented samples from the different localities and different
iron phases and laboratory preparation of the standard cores. 2) Intensive rock magnetic experiments such as: Isothermal remanent
magnetization (IRM) acquisition, Coercivity of remanence, Hysteresis Loops
and Curie temperature determination to identify the dominant magnetic minerals
that may responsible for carrying the magnetization.
3) Magnetic cleaning and processing of the studied samples using both thermal and
A.F demagnetization techniques for isolating the magnetic component (s)
carried by these rocks.
4) Calculation of the pole positions for all ore types and correlating the obtained
poles with the corresponding reference poles of Egypt to identify the
magnetization age.
5) Measuring anisotropy of low-field magnetic susceptibility (AMS) of the
collected samples for the magnetic fabrics investigation.
6) Interpreting the obtained results in order to understand the age and origin of the
studied ores.
