This study was conducted on 5o patients of liver cirrhosis admitted to Tropical Medicine Department in Menoufia University faculty of medicine and they were classified into three groups: Group (I): composed of 25 cirrhotic patients with ascites and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP). These results summarized that: - There was no statistical significant difference between the three studied groups regarding to age. Also, there was no statistical significant difference between the three studied groups regarding to sex. - There was no statistical significant difference between the three studied group regarding WBS. Regarding PLT, there was no statistical significant difference between group I and group II, while there was statistical significant difference between group I with group III and group II with group III. Regarding HB, there was no statistical significant difference between group I and group II (P1>0.05) while there was statistical significant difference between group I with group III and group II with group III. - Regarding S.Bil, there was no statistical significant difference between group I and group II, while there was statistical significant difference between group I with group III and group II with group III. Regarding prothrombin time, there was no statistical significant difference between group I with group II and group II with group III, while there was statistical significant difference between group I with group III. Regarding prothrombin activity, there was no statistical significant difference between group I with group II. - Regarding ascetic NO, there was no statistical significant difference between groups I with group II. There was statistical significant difference between the three different studied groups regarding to serum NO. - There was statistical significant difference between the two studied groups regarding positive HCV and bleeding O.V, while.
